OUR SSL TOOLS

Download Root Certificates

Every Certification Authority (CA) has its own unique certificate, to prove its competencies as a CA. This certificate is called the Root Certificate and it is the first certificate that a web browser will try to identify when connecting to any website. This is why will you need to install the root certificate of your CA on your server to prevent your users encountering any trouble.
You can choose here which Root Certificate to download according to your CA.

CSR Decoder

A Certificate Signing Request is a block of encoded text that contains information about your business, and an SSL public key. Your CSR will be sent to each person requesting access to your website with a secure connection. Yet once it is created, the text is encoded. This means you can no longer read what is written inside. You can choose here which Root Certificate to download according to your CA.

Since certificate authorities use the information in CSRs to create certificates, you need to make sure that your CSR has the right information inside. To check this, you can use a CSR Decoder. This small programme will decode the CSR and tell you exactly what information is contained inside. If you see any mistakes in your CSR when using the Decoder, you will have to create a new one.
Your CSR should start with:

-----BEGIN CERTIFICATE REQUEST----- " and end with "-----END CERTIFICATE REQUEST----- "

E-mail Approver Checker

When you order an SSL Certificate you may use the services of a reseller, like us, but it is a Certification Authority (Symantec, Geotrust, Thawte...) that will provide you with the certificate in the end. And each time you order a Certificate for a domain, let's say www.ssl247.co.uk, the CA needs to make sure that the administrator of www.ssl247.co.uk agrees with you ordering a Certificate for their domain. If you are not the administrator of www.ssl247.co.uk, then you won't be able to complete the order before its administrator approves it.

So the CA automatically sends what is called an Approver e-mail to the administrator of www.ssl247.co.uk. They then have to approve and return the e-mail to the CA. The order will only be processed once this process has been completed and the e-mail has been returned. CAs only accept a certain type of administrator e-mail address. Our E-mail approver checker will help you find which type will be accepted by the CA. If you can't find your current administrator e-mail in the list displayed, you will have to create a new one, or ask your administrator to do so.

Health Checkers

Once you have installed your SSL certificate, you will have to check that there was no trouble during the set-up. You need to make sure it's correctly installed, valid, trusted, and that it doesn't generate any error for your web users. Our health checker will inform you if your SSL certificate was installed properly. Of course, you can use it at any time after the installation. All you have to do is choose your Certification Authority, run the Java application in their webpage and enter your domain name and SSL port number (default is 443).
If the health checker indicates any issue, you can read our troubleshooting section to get help, or contact us.

Command Line CSR Generators

Microsoft Exchange 2007 Wizard

Microsoft Exchange 2007 has introduced a new process to generate a CSR from the traditional method within a Windows environment. It is called Exchange Management Shell, a command line tool which requires a custom input string to gather the CSR. This input string can be created manually, but our Wizard will make it easy for you. Just fill out the form and it will generate the lines of code that you need.

Microsoft Exchange 2010 Wizard

This Wizard works the same way as the one for Exchange 2007 (see just above). Save yourself a lot of time and typing by using our Wizard.
