WHAT IS TTL AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

TTL or Time To Live is a measurement of the lifespan of data in a computer or network when you create, for example, a Service Record (SRV).   The TTL dictates how long it take for the server cache to refresh; the time it will take to propagate after you make a change.

It’s measured in seconds so one hour would equate to the TTL being set at 3600 seconds. The TTL is automatically set to 86400 seconds (24 hours) when you create a new record for your domain names.
